Using the Clarification System to ask a Private Team Clarification

The purpose of this page is to explain the mechanics of using DI's Clarification System to ask a private team clarification. We will cover:

What clarifications are all about

A private team clarification is an opportunity to ask an authoritative source a question about one of this year's DI Team Challenges.  You will receive a private answer to your question in a few days.  For a more detailed explanation of the clarification process click here.

Who can ask a clarification

You can ask a clarification for your team if you are the Team Coordinator, a Team Manager, or Team Member for the team.  While it may be clear to your team that you hold one of these roles, the trick is that the website needs to know this.  How might the website find that out?

When your team number was purchased, the purchaser of the team number was set as the initial Team Coordinator.  The purchaser can change the Team Coordinator to someone else as is discussed here.

There are 2 ways you can identify yourself as a Team Manager:

  1. ask the Team Coordinator or another Team Manager to add you as a Team Manager (described here)
  2. nominate yourself (described here)

To be recognized as a Team Member, ask your Team Coordinator or a Team Manager to add you as a Team Member (described here)

Creating or finding a your DI Account

You may be thinking, "how do I know if I already have a DI Account or not?"

If you have done any of the following, you probably already have an account:

  • purchased team numbers or other merchandise in ShopDI
  • attended Global Finals as a Team Manager or Official
  • held an affiliate or regional role as a challenge master

Before we look for your account, you should know the following:

  1. each DI Account has a unique email address
  2. it is best NOT to have multiple DI Accounts.  While it may seem expeditious to just create a new DI Account, you will make life difficult for you and others as they will not know which account to use when trying to reference you.

If you think you already have a DI Account, try one of the following:

  • try to log-in (you will need your password) (described here)
  • have the website send you a new password (described here)

If you don't already have an account, try one of the following:

  • if your Team Coordinator or another Team Manager attempted to add you, you should have received an email asking you to create an account.  Use the link in that email to create the account (described here)
  • create an account from scratch (described here)

Asking a clarification once you are logged in

The clarification system is on teams menu dropdown (teams=>clarifications).  This will display the My Clarifications page that is described in detail here.
