Earlier we described that a DI tournament is a competition (more here).  Tournaments are also in a hierarchy;


  • If an affiliate is large enough it has regional tournaments.  Winners of the regional tournament advance to an affiliate tournament.  Smaller affiliates may just have an affiliate tournament for all teams in the affiliate.
  • Winners of the affiliate tournament advance to the Global Finals tournament.


Earlier we also talked about the need for advancement rules (more here).  The Scoring Program uses the advancement rules to determine which teams will advance to the next level of competition.


The Resource Area is designed to use the advancement rules to assist in setting up the next level tournament.  The steps to do this are described here.
